The first step for Feva Sailors are the Zone Squads.
1. RYA Zone Squads North Zone Squad & South Zone Squad
For sailors normally of sailing age under 14 years (their age on the 31st December on year of selection), the squads are organised on a regional basis. The Zone Squads in England are organised by the RYA. Interested sailors in Scotland and Wales should contact RYA Scotland and the WYA respectively. These squads provide coaching for sailors who are aspiring to progress to the RYA National Junior Squads.
The next step is the:
2. RYA National Junior Squad For sailors normally of sailing age under 15 years (their age on the 31st December on year of selection). The National Junior Squad provides coaching for sailors who are aspiring to progress to the RYA Volvo Transition Training Squads that feed through to the RYA Volvo National Youth Squads.
There is also the Feva Class National Squad:
3. RS Feva Class National Squad For sailors under 18 years of age who want to continue to progress with high quality training, but do no fit the RYA age eligibility criteria and wish to later move into other classes (either RYA pathway classes or not), or who were not selected for the RYA National Junior or Zone Squads. It provides race coaching for experienced racers.
4. RS Feva Class Regional Squads For sailors who are not selected for RYA Zone Squads either due to missing the age requirements or for other reasons. These squads are for either young sailors or those new to sailing who aspire to prgressing to the other squads.
