Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club- RYA North Zone Championships

We would like to welcome you to Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club, and look forward to some great racing. If you have any queries over the weekend, please ask either Ian Escritt, the YDSC championships representative who will be introduced at the briefing or Jonathan Lister the YDSC Commodore.

Located on the picturesque Eastern side of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club offers exhilarating sailing amidst the most spectacular scenery in the region.

The reservoir is owned by Yorkshire Water and is situated on the B6265, 8 miles West of Pateley Bridge, 4 miles East of Grassington. Access to the Reservoir is good, with a tarmac Water Authority road leading you from the B6265 to the reservoir. Please note that the maps show 'Grimwith Road', which is a rough gated track with no access to the club. Please use the tarmac road close to Dibbles Bridge at the foot of the hill - this entrance has an obvious Yorkshire Water sign and a cattle grid. If you are using a GPS that needs a postcode, using BD23 5ED should do the trick.

For those wanting to check the forecast on the web before arriving, the closest towns to YDSC are either Skipton or Harrogate (for BBC weather) and the best postcode to use for Metcheck is BD23. Please note that Grimwith is a very deep lake, which remains cold through the year, so please bring and wear suitable sailing kit.
