Notice for competitors

Joining Instructions Update – Posted 19th September

Local Boats

The joining instructions asked that all local competitors move their boats to the Royal Burnham Yacht Club in preparation for launching over the weekend. This has now been changed, all boats will tally and launch from the RCYC.

The majority of local boats are at the Otters, could all other locals please ensue they move their boats to the RCYC prior to the event.

All boats will be checked and launched, after the tallying of sailors, from the new RCYC pontoon.

We hope that you will join all of us and stay to see the Carnival, however as a reminder should you not wish to stay you will need to move your cars away from the RCYC prior to racing. The suggestion is that you move your cars to the Marina top car park and then walk back down to the club along the seawall.

This way, should you wish to leave early you will be able to exit Burnham. We will provide a map of how to do this – when leaving you will have to snake through the railway station – it is all fairly straightforward.

In terms of your timing and organisation you should factor in an extra twenty minutes to take your car up to the marina and walk back down. We will have areas for your bags etc when you arrive.

The carnival is sounding like a lot of fun however, heaps of floats, bands, carnival queens, lots of street fancy dress and apparently a big campaign for lots of Where’s Wallys to be everywhere – how many will you spot?.

Looking forward to seeing you this weekend.

All at Burnham On Crouch
